GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION

Q: When and where is the Bracknell Samaritans Run 2026 taking place? 

The event is scheduled for Saturday, 20th June 2026, at Kings Academy Easthampstead Park, Ringmead, Bracknell RG12 8FS.

 
 
Q: What race options are available? 

Participants can choose from a 5K run, a 10K run, or the Teddy Bear Kids Run.  


 
Q: What are the start times for each race? 

• Teddy Bear Kids Run: 09:30 AM 
• 5K & 10K Runs: 10:00 AM (with a warm-up session at 09:50 AM)


 
Q: Is there a limit to the number of participants? 

Yes, the event has a race limit of 600 participants.  

RACE DAY DETAILS

Q: What is the course like for the 5K and 10K runs? 


The course is an accurately measured 5K loop starting and finishing on a grassed sports field. The route includes flat and open sections, an incline through Jennetts Park, and a lightly wooded area known as Tarman’s Copse. The terrain comprises grass, gravel paths, and some pavement. The 10K run involves completing the loop twice.

 
 
Q: Are there any awards or medals? 


Yes, all finishers receive a bespoke Samaritans Run medal. Additionally, trophies are awarded in various categories for both the 5K and 10K races.

 
 
Q: Can I wear headphones during the race? 


The use of headphones or any music-playing devices is NOT permitted during the race, except for bone-conducting headphones. This policy is in place for safety reasons.

 
 
Q: What facilities are available on race day? 


• Free on-site parking 
• Toilets and changing rooms 
• Supervised bag storage area 
• Refreshments available for purchase 
• Wellness area
 

FUNDRAISING & VOLUNTEERING

Q: How does this event support the Samaritans? 


The Bracknell Samaritans Run is the largest fundraising event for the local Samaritans branch. Funds raised help maintain their services, which offer confidential support to individuals in distress or despair.  
 
Q: How can I contribute to fundraising? 


Participants are encouraged to raise an additional £25. If every entrant does so, it could fund the local Samaritans branch for over six months.  


 
Q: Are volunteers needed for the event? 


Yes, volunteers play a crucial role in the event’s success. If you’re interested in helping or marshalling on the day, please contact bracknellsamaritansrun@samaritans.org

Q: What are the entry fees? 

 

Early Bird until 31/01/2026           

Standard Fee from 01/02/2026   

 

  • 5k U16 -     Early Bird £13;   Standard £16 

  • 5k adult -   Early Bird £23;   Standard £26 

  • ​​10k adult - Early Bird £25;   Standard £28 

  • ​​From 01/02/2026 members of clubs who officially promote and support the Run can benefit from 10% discount​​​. 

  • Discounts do not apply to 'on the day' entries. 

  • ​Gift cards are available.

  

 
Q: Are there any age restrictions for the races? 

• 5K: Minimum age is 11 years on race day. 
• 10K: Participants must be 16 years or older on race day. 
• Teddy Bear Kids Run: Suitable for children aged 3–10 years. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult (no charge for the adult).


 
Q: Can I register on the day of the event? 

Yes, on-the-day entries are available (subject to availability) with an additional £3 fee. Registration opens at 8:30 AM and closes at 9:45 AM for the 5K & 10K, and at 9:15 AM for the Kids Run.  

TEDDY BEAR KIDS RUN

Q: What is the Teddy Bear Kids Run? 


A fun, 1K run designed for children aged 3–10 years, where they can follow a life-sized teddy bear named Sam. Each child receives a running bib, a medal, and refreshments at the end.  


 
Q: Can parents run with their children? 


Yes, children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult during the run. There is no charge for the accompanying adult.  

TRANSFERS & CANCELLATIONS

Q: Can I transfer my entry to someone else? 


Yes, transfers can be made in advance via the link in your confirmation email or on the day at the registration desk (at least 30 minutes before the race starts). Note that unauthorized transfers may result in disqualification. Note that no refund will be issued for a swap from 10K to 5K but there will be an additional charge to swap to the 10K from the 5K race. 


 
Q: Are refunds available if I can’t participate? 


No refunds are provided if the race is cancelled or postponed due to circumstances beyond the organizers’ control.  

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Q: Are dogs allowed at the event? 


No, dogs are not permitted on the school premises.  


 
Q: Where can I find race photos after the event? 


Photos will be available to download after the event.
